Zawa's Humble Beginnings

Zawa began as a small 3D printing hobby and a heartfelt response to my mother's request for Islamic decor. During Ramadan of 2024, she struggled to find pieces that aligned with the aesthetic of her home while embodying the spirit of Islam and the holy month. Inspired, I began designing decor that captured both elegance and faith, paying careful attention to detail. What started as a personal project soon blossomed into something more, and Zawa was born to bring this vision to others.

Our Mission

The name "Zawa" is derived from the Arabic word Zawiya (زاوية), a term rooted in Maghrebi and West African traditions. Historically, a zawiya is an Islamic religious school or retreat overseen by sacred scholars, akin to a madrassa. Zawiya also holds a beautiful dual meaning: it can refer to a literal “corner” of a building or a figurative “corner” — a unique and carefully crafted space within one’s life. In Moroccan culture, there's a saying, "Take the corner," encouraging someone facing hardship to seek a quiet place of reflection. This idea of the "corner" aligns with my design philosophy: each piece is crafted with precision and intention, meant to fit seamlessly into a home as a meaningful, serene focal point. Just as a zawiya offers a place of solace, beauty, and tranquility, Zawa aims to bring spiritual and aesthetic harmony into every corner of the home.
